UI Archive's mission is to be the Internet Archive for design systems — publicly accessible, preserved, searchable. That requires the core browsing experience to be free forever, with no account gate. The API tier is how we cover infrastructure costs and sustain development. GPL-3.0: if we ever shut down, anyone can fork and self-host.
Do I need an account to use the web UI?
No. Paste a URL, inspect, browse — zero sign-up. No card, no email.
How is the rate limit calculated?
Per key (or per IP for anonymous requests), on a rolling 24-hour window.
Can I use the API in production?
Yes. Free keys work in production. Upgrade to Pro or Studio if you need higher volume.
Is the data I inspect private?
Snapshots are public by default — UI Archive is a public archive. We only inspect publicly accessible CSS. We never read authenticated or behind-login content.
Can I self-host?
Yes. GPL-3.0 licensed on GitHub. If we ever shut down, anyone can fork and self-host.
What happens when Pro/Studio launch?
